More Family Happenings

Hello my friends and family!
Well I am behind on my posting so prepare for reading.
Ready, Set, Go.
Haha
Anyways I will start with last night as my sweet darling and I went on a date. Yep, an actual date. Haven't done that, just the two of us in I don't know when, I think it was last year at least. So Travis comes home from work and says your dad said they will watch the boys if we want to go riding. What! I say. My Dad??? Yep, Travis had said he was going riding and so Dad said we could bring the boys over. So you better believe I called Mom right away and said how soon can we bring them over. haha So we took the boys there and took the bike and left. We went up to Virginia City and we have always wanted to check out the cemetery up there but never have so we decided to stop there. Morbid I know but it is so old and some of the graves you can picture a story in your mind. So many younger people died and then there were the many children and babies. Sometime we will have to go when they have a tour going so they can tell the story of each one. So then we left there and rode home and went to Ruby River and shared a steak, Yum Yum. and then home to get the kids. So it was a nice 4 hour date or so.
So now about our weekend camping. We decided to go camping at the last minute and I haven't told you yet so I will tell the story on that.
So I got all the groceries and blow up beds and everything together before all got home on Friday. Then we headed up to Tahoe after getting everything all packed up. Got to the campground we wanted to go and no sites left. ugh. Ana and I went down and talked to the camp host, this scraggly guy with a crooked mouth and eyes that went all directions so that you didn't really know where to look. So he says well all sites are taken but next to my trailer, you girls have any guys with you??? oh boy, well thanks for the offer but we will look at a different camp ground. YIKES!
So we drove down and stopped at a few others which were also full but we finally found one that we pretty much figured would have spaces, but was leaving it for last as it is just huge and so tons of people. Camp Richardson. But that is where we ended up. A very nice campground. Mom and Dad rode their motorcycle up to eat dinner with us. By this time is is 8pm so we hurriedly set up the tent and get everything all out so we can roast some dogs. While we are doing that we have Daddy and Mama start the roasting. Man we really did have enough food for company. It was our first time camping though so we weren't sure, but I did bring too short of a supply of forks and spoons as we ran out the next morning. But anyways so we all made the Sausage dogs and ate that then I had brought stuff for smores and so they all fixed them selves some smores. By the way this was the first time of the boys ever camping and then of course our first time going all together, we all have of course camped in our day. lol
So we ate and visited, got the beds all blown up and made. Lucky Travis and I have all the camping equipment thanks to Uncle Harland. We put 2 queen mattresses and a single for the boys to share. It was a floor of Mattresses with no other room but for our bags.Very cozy and fun. I am not a camper as dirt and I and bugs just don't jive all together but hey what a mother will do for her kids and what we will do for some cheap fun huh. lol So now we are campers and somehow all decided that it will be a monthly event and already have the August one planned for the 15th. FuN FuN FuN LOL
So anyways Dad and Mom left around 12 or a little after, we felt all bad about them going all the way home on their bike so late but then come to find out a few days later mind you, that they ended up staying in Stateline, My mom had surprised my dad with it even but had had it all planned out and had snuck toothbrush and stuff for them. Sneaky mom.lol
Well after they left I went and took a shower. Wasn't that an experience. The shower came out in like 5 dribbles and it was either scalding or freezing so I washed my hair in the scalding and then body in the freezing as I suppose my head can take more than my body. lol Not the best shower I ever took but I felt clean at least. Then Josh and Travis went and took one after they had all razzed me so bad about even taking one. lol then they go take one. By the time I get back Ana had put the boys to bed as they were wanting to go to bed forever because of their cool bed in a sleeping bag. haha Although Coda had fallen asleep before in his chair.
We all stayed up roasting more marsh-mellows and telling stories till about 2. Then we went to bed. Next morning can you believe that Josh was the first up all ready to eat breakfast, sleeping in a tent makes one hungry I guess. So then Travis gets up and he and Josh start cooking, Ana starts peeling potatoes and I start rolling up bedding, letting air out of the mattress and rolling those up too. By the time I am done with that breakfast is ready. Sausage, Bacon, Eggs, Potatoes, and Roasted Biscuits along with donuts and pop-tarts. And cheese for melting on the eggs and potatoes. Quite the breakfast but we were on our way to hike and so needed something big. So we finally got everything all cleaned up and packed and we drive down a ways to the trailhead. And off we go. 1 mile to the lake then on past there. Ended up the total for the day was 3 miles up and 3 back down so a total hike of 6 miles. The boys did so well, people couldn't' believe they had went up so far. Most people only hike to Eagle Lake and then the big hikers usually go farther. Well I suppose we are big hikers. We filled 2 backpacks with water and gatorade and by the time we got back to the truck it was all gone. It was a pretty strenuous hike especially with Josh's "shortcuts" lol
So we did that, was about a 5 hour hike I think it was and then we rode back home and took showers and cleaned everything up and went and ate dinner. We were going to have a picnic when we got back to the truck but we were almost down to the bottom and there was a nice falls with a shallow pool so we stopped there for the boys to swim and us put our feet in when all of a sudden big drops of water began slowly falling from the sky. lol by the time we got in the truck there was a major rain going on. Wow it rained like you wouldn't believe, but everything was dried out by the time we got home. The nice thing about where we live. :)
So that was our camping/hiking trip.
I have added slide-shows of the pictures, I had to put it in 2 as I am only allowed a certain amount of pictures per slide-show so the top one is Part 1 and the bottom Part 2. Both slideshows are a bit long I'm afraid, but I hope you enjoy them. :)
