Hey everyone
Ty is lying here talking himself to sleep I think :) and I was online to check in for my flight tomorrow and print my ticket, so thought I would drop a post in here. :)
Got the boys off to their first day of school. Took my camera and was going to do it all up right but alas we were running late and so had to run Coda to one side of the playground to find his line and say hey to his teacher and then all the way to the other side of the playground to find Dallas' line, and just as we were coming across on Dallas side they were all walking into his class and before the bell even rang. So he made it in before the bell rang at least.
Coda's teacher asked him if he was nervous and he said he wasn't so that is good and I'm sure he is having a wonderful day with his 3 recesses he was so looking forward to.
We got on Yellow track like I wanted so that Coda could have the same teacher that Dallas had in 1st grade. I was happy for that because I really liked her. Mrs. Day.
That means next year they will have to switch back to Blue track because I really really liked Dallas' 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Martinkus. But I think I like blue track best anyways.
I am not sure about this years teacher for Dallas, she looks kind of like a no nonsense kind of teacher which isn't always a bad thing so I will wait to make any judgements until later and until I see what Dallas thinks of her. So far we have had really good luck with getting great teachers except for Dallas' kindergarten teacher which was okay but Travis didn't care for at all, but that was over at S.S. elementary and over here at Van Gorder I like the staff a whole lot better all around.
I think what makes a teacher is the deciding factor of, are they doing it for the money or are they doing it because it is a passion, because they love the children and want to do thier best to give them the best education that they can.
Mrs. Martinkus adored the children, and it was obvious. And then she especially adored Dallas which was really cool.
Mrs Day, the same. Hopefully she will love Coda as much as she did Dallas. They are 2 very different kids though and lovable in very different ways. Dallas loves to learn, Coda loves to play. Dallas goes to school for learning new things, Coda goes for recess. :) Not to say that Dallas doesn't go for the fun stuff too, because unfortunately he is one of the most popular kids in the school. Which can be a good thing and a bad thing. I just sometimes get worried that he will get too caught up in school and forget about church things, especially when he gets older. But I of course know that that is all up to me and I am doing my best to keep the scales tipped in the right direction and he does love church too and always has to make sure he is dressed just perfect in suit and tie for every service and sits on the front bench.
With Coda it is good he is not so out going at school because he hates suits and wants to know if church is almost over before it has barely begun.
So we will see how this new school year goes.
Poor Ty, he has been asking for Coda all day. He will be so excited when we finally get to go pick him up. He even went and just sat on Dallas' bed talking to himself. As if he was just waiting for Coda to get here. Poor baby. Nae Nae just doesn't compare to Coco :(((

It seems so hard to believe my babies are both in school and now for full days. Before long Dallas will be choosing a college and Coco will choosing which branch of the military. He wants to be a soldier so he can shoot a gun. UGHHH kids crack me up. Who knows they might both grow up to be preachers. As long as they live for Jesus that's all that matters! Hugx for both:):)
poor naenae. i guess you just dont compare to coco. maybe it's cos coco is closer in age? not sure....
