I just heard the funniest thing today...
Well, I blogged about our short spurts of rain earlier and so we are onto the weather topic.
In Washington I am hearing of unheard of temperatures. I really don't remember it reaching 100 when I lived there, which was my whole life. But get this. So, my Grandma tells us that there in Auburn it is hot hot hot. On her porch today the thermometer read 110. Wow! Amazing! Hasn't even gotten that hot here yet this year, I think our top was 102 so far but we mostly stick with the 90's. So anyways Gram says that at my Grandpa's work they are passing out bottled water and popsicles periodically throughout the day. Now is that cool or what. And that Library's and other public buildings are opening to the public to come in and cool off. Wow!
Well, I asked Josh if he gets popsicles and bottled water but he said no, he has to bring his own water.
But then we dance in the rain here too. Course sounds like some Washingtonians will dance in the rain when it returns there. Haha
I will have to tell my dad he needs to start handing out popsicles at work.
But hey, I feel bad for you guys, I really do. Because you see, the difference is that you have humidity. See, here we have no humidity and so therefore the heat doesn't feel as hot as it might be because it is dry and there is always a breeze blowing.
Another thing, since you are not used to having such heat, so many of you don't have A/C. I remember, I didn't have A/C when I lived there. Travis doesn't at his Grandma's. They in fact didn't even have a fan until finally Grandma went and bought one for her and one for Travis this week which has made it semi bearable. Travis called me the other night and we talked till almost midnight because he couldn't sleep cuz it was so hot in the house. My children are spoiled, during the day I keep the thermostat set at 76 and usually turn it down to 70 at night but I usually go to bed later than the boys and some nights Dallas will get up and ask can I turn the air on, he is hot. I have just a ton of tile in my house so I keep everything closed up and it actually stays cool in here. And I would sleep with the window's open at night if I were braver but since I am a bit of a scaredy cat I just turn the air on instead. haha But it doesn't really cool off all that much at night here anyways. I think when I came home tonight at 10 it was like 82. But remember, 82 is pleasant here. As much as you might not believe me, 82 in Washington is a vast difference from 82 in the high desert. So that is why I really do feel for you guys.
So enough about that.
Goodnight all

BTW: Just to give you an idea of the difference in humidity. I just looked up on Accuweather and currently at 11:52pm it is 77 in Centralia and 75 here. The humidity level there is 64% with no breeze, here the humidity is 26% and we have a 3mph breeze blowing. Soooooooo Sorry guys. Hope you sleep well
