What a day I have had today.
Was woke up way early by the wind blowing a bucket all over my back yard. Laid in bed to long though so had to rush the boys. So we are rushing and the wind is blowing what sounded like a hurricane, dirt, buckets, tumbleweeds. So we finally make it out to the car, jump in, stick the key in the ignition and nothing, try again, still nothing. Not even a click. GREAT, now what, dead battery. A voice pipes up from the back seat, "mom, the door was open when I came out" Wonderful! So someone had left thier door open all night. So we all pile out and hurry hurry hurry, get your helmet on and you are going to have to ride your bike to school. Even though we have this mini hurricane going on and you only have 10 minutes before the bell rings and the clock is ticking. So off they go as mom yells hurry but watch for cars. So I get back in and text mom, could she come give me a jump at her convenience. Yeah, sometime today she might be able to make it over. Well nothing for it now but to hang out till she does. So about noon she comes and we go to the fabric store. Half off sale on fleece! On the way I make the stupid comment as we are driving by a big green garbage can on its side spinning down the road "Man at least we don't have to deal with this wind with rain too like they were having in Wa." Ha me and my big mouth. By the time we come out of the fabric store it is raining sheets sideways with snow mixed in. Great!!!! The boys are on thier bikes, only needed sweatshirts when they left for school cuz it was windy but not freezing, it is now snowing. I never had the absolute need of a truck when I had it but now that I do I don't have it and bikes don't fit in SUV's too well. So I said lets just go get my car running and we will have a nice warm car for them to warm up in since we can't leave thier bikes at school all weekend, they are just going to have to tough it out. Poor Kiddo's. So anyways we come home, I find some jumper cables. Get in the car to back it out of the garage and can't get it in neutral. The car has to be started to put it in neutral. Hmph! now what. "Oh they have these battery charger things, maybe Travis has one" So I call Travis, nope he doesn't. Dad used to but doesn't any more so now what. Of course none of my male neighbors are home but 1 that I don't know all that well and I wasn't about to go knock on his door. So I call Josh, "well why don't you push the over ride button and then put it in neutral". Duh! I knew that....
So went and found that button and low and behold Derick pulls up in his driveway. So since I have never jumped a car and mom is shivering and not thrilled at all about standing in the rain I yelled across the street for him to please come help me. Being the nice guy he is he comes right over and we push the car out and he has it running in no time. Thank God he made men! I would have probably electrocuted myself, especially when he stuck one of them on and it sparked I would have went through the hood I'm sure. He made sure to show me how to do it. (as if I would ever want to) No Thanks!
LoL
So my poor kids are home by then and telling me they really hadn't wanted to ride their bike to school today. Unfortunately they really didn't have a choice although when we saw that the car wouldn't start Coda was quite thrilled thinking he wouldn't have to go to school since he had already asked to stay home this morning when he was warm in his blankets and really didn't want to get out of bed, so now was a perfect excuse, and it would have worked if we lived any farther. But since we only live 0.3 miles from the school there is no excuse.
So we are finally up and running and went to moms for dinner and then us girls went to Tara's baby shower and played some nasty games. Ugh, the things women do for fun. Like making a baby out of other peoples chewed up tootsie roll and eating baby food. Yuck Yuck Yuck!
We then helped mom, (or watched rather) put up the Christmas tree. Yes, early I know but it is the only weekend we have to do it. Next week is terribly busy with Thanksgiving and the guys being home then the next week is parade practice every night and then the parade and then the boys and I are leaving to see Travis and won't be back until 3 days before Christmas and mom is coming up a week after me so this is our only free weekend to do it so that's that. :))
Well anyways it is now almost 2am, Dallas is playing xbox and Coda is playing Didj. It has stopped snowing and raining but is bitterly cold out. But even with the downpour we had everything is all nice and dry again. Thank Goodness! I can't stand the wet.
