Had a wonderful New Years weekend.
Went skiing Saturday. Everyone forgot their camera but us thanks to Travis. He got our camera and video camera too. Unfortunately I had put the camera battery on the charger the night before and he didn't know it so we had a camera with no battery. But we had our video camera and he used it but I have to have a fire wire to transfer it to my computer and I don't have that so can't share.
We went with Josh, Ana and Dad and Mom. All had a wonderful time. It was funny to watch the boys. We didn't put them in a class and we didn't get tethers to hold on to them. We just gave them thier skis and told them point it and go, and that's exactly what Coda did anyways. haha
Dallas was quite a bit more cautious but Travis taught him how to snow plow and once he knew he could stop he was going on the blue runs by the end of the day. Coda on the other hand had no lack of courage but never did get the snow plow thing down. He said that made him go too slow. We all called him some kind of Kamikaze because he would point them and go till he wrecked and if you were in the way you just better get out of the way because he wasn't stopping. It was quite scary to watch and we were wishing we had gotten him a helmet and we kept him on the green runs only even though he wanted to take a blue run. They are a lot more narrow and steep. But we all had a wonderful time even if we were all sore by days end.
It was an absolutely gorgeous day, so warm alot of people were skiing without coats and the boys boys took of thier hats even. The sun was very bright and beautiful.
We skied up on Heavenly up at Lake Tahoe and its always just so beautiful whenever we go up to Tahoe. When we were at the top, well as high up as we went anyways we could see a beautiful view of the lake. I wanted to kick myself all day for not having a camera.
There were lots of people but its such a huge mountain that it wasn't too bad until it was time to go back to the car and everyone else was going too and there was only 1 lift that takes you back from where we were and it was only a 3 seat-er so that took some time but other than that wasn't much line waiting to get on lifts and the lift we used the most was a 6 seat-er so that made it go pretty fast.
We were on our skis by about 9am and we didn't get off them till closing time at 4. Poor Travis didn't get much real skiing in what with teaching the boys but the end of the day he did about 2 or 3 runs on his own while I kept the boys.
