I'm waiting for dinner to be done so thought I would post a small note.
Grandma just took Dad to the airport and so I am cooking dinner. Grandpa and the boys are back playing a game.
We've been having a wonderful time here. Only rained once, yesterday.
We head back home tomorrow night after Travis gets off work.
He is taking a couple days off and so that will be nice, I won't have to come home by myself to a cold, empty, quiet house.
Travis and I were able to have a date while I've been here.
The boys went camping with Jared and Tracy over this past weekend so on Saturday Travis took me to Seattle down to the water and then we went to the Seattle Center and then he had made reservations at Chandler's Crabhouse. We had a wonderful time just the two of us being together. We were going to go to Cheesecake factory for dessert but after dinner it was late and we were so full we couldn't have ate another bite.
I liked Chandler's well enough but it is more Josh and Ana's type of place with their specialty being crab but they had good steak. I still prefer The Met or Ruth's Chris. The Met has THE best twice baked potato's and its been forever since I've been there so next time I'm up here I think I will request to Travis to take me to The Met again.
I just LOVE Seattle!!!
But then I would probably love Chicago or New York if I ever went since I love the city...
Sunday we went to Uncle Billy's. Great fun. Had church at 10am and then potluck and games. It was old fashion day and they dressed up so cute.
Travis participated in every game. The gunny sack race, Tug-of-war between the men and women, horse shoe tournament and volley ball.
One extremely funny moment was the tug-of-war. Travis was in the middle to tell everyone when to start with the men on his right and the women on his left. As he is getting ready to say start they already have the rope pulled tight. About 20 or so men and probably 30 women give or take. He has his hands on the middle of the rope and says ready, set, go! And they all put their weight into it and the rope immediately snaps in half right where Travis had been holding it. Haha, all the men and women go tumbling to the ground like dominoes. If we didn't know better we would have all thought he had cut the rope as he lifted his hands and said Go! So they got the rope all fixed and tried again with everyone pulling tentatively at first. lol and of course the men won even though the women outnumbered them.
But we had a fun day and lots of good food. There was a pie baking contest. Aunt Helen took 1st place with my mom's pie coming in 2nd. And No I did not enter one to come in last. lol
After that we went over to Travis Dad's church. They start at 2pm so by the time we got there they were having their potluck and wanted us to try their food and desserts.
The boys had fun bear hunting/camping up in the mountains. Shot at 2 bears and hit one of them but obviously was not a fatal shot since it was never found. Dallas, Dakota and Dawson all slept in a tent by themselves. Coda said it was a little scary, specially when they had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and had to get up and wake up Uncle Jared to take them. I'm not sure which was the scary part, going to the bathroom at night or waking Uncle Jared. LOL JK
It was a good lesson that right before the boys went camping we heard on the radio about a little girl that had went camping and gotten lost for 2 days and so when I told the boys to keep an adult in sight at all times they were sure to inform me that that would be no problem cuz they didn't want to be lost with nothing to eat like that little girl was. :)
They ate very well but then we knew they would with Aunt Tracy along who is referred to as the betty crocker of the family.
Well I think we are about to start a game of Scrabble here in a bit so I better get off here so I can clean up my computer stuff off the kitchen table.
Grandpa thinks I'm just such an awesome cook, I've cooked 3 times since I've been here. We won't tell him that thats all I can cook, if I had to cook again it would have to be Mac-N-Cheese. haha jk
Well I'm off to the sunshine tomorrow and so long as I'm bringing my baby with me I'm happy for that. When he heads back up here though I will be sad to stay in the sunshine I think. Oh Well, life goes on and sometimes there's nothing we can do to change it when we don't like it.
