Tonight we are having a church BBQ. We are going to BBQ all the rude people. Haha just kidding, better not do that, I might fall into that category in some's estimation. No we are all to bring a salad and dessert to share and then something of our own to grill. We, or rather they will all play and get dirty and then we will be able to watch the fireworks from the parking lot. So once again I have stepped out on a limb and done something besides store bought. Ugh! So I got some strawberries and dipped them in chocolate. They only had the black nasty stuff and no white which was aggravating since I don't like chocolate so can't even eat any of my own dessert. Then I decided to make some turtles. So I got these different kind of chocolate caramels to try and since they were bigger than a rolo I put 2 pecans on so it's a double backed turtle. I of course couldn't try it to see how it tasted since I knew it would be disgusting. Haha. I then made some regular normal turtles. A while back I had seen a recipe for s'mores on a stick. Marshmallow, dipped in chocolate, rolled in graham cracker. So I tried that out. I also made some macaroni salad which I used to know how to make when my mother in law first taught me but not so well anymore, but not too many besides my family like it anyways so no big deal. I'll just bring home the left overs. Except Josh doesn't like onions and I did put onions but he put eggs in his potato salad so we are even. See I made it and I'm the worst for over seasoning stuff and so typical me overdid it so went to the store, got another box of pasta and added to it and that fixed that although I think it might could use a little more garlic but I'm afraid to touch it now. Lol. So now you know, me and my cooking skills are improving but mostly at a snails pace. Haha. Which in my estimation isn't that big of a deal. My husband has been married to me for almost 13 years and hasn't complained yet so I think I'm safe. Lol So Happy Independance Day everyone. This Country is definitely not the same as it was July 4th 1776 but we are still free and we have much to be thankful for, so let's get out there and enjoy the day and celebrate!
