Tonight we took Paw-Paw to Texas Roadhouse for his 79th Birthday.
He is doing pretty good since his stroke 15 months ago that he had while driving his semi down the road bout to head out for Texas. The stroke paralyzed him on his right side, and it's been a long journey for him ever since then up until now. September one year ago my parents moved Paw-Paw & Maw-Maw to Nevada to be near the family so we could all take care of them. When Paw-Paw arrived he was mostly in a wheel chair and couldn't walk much. We all told him he needed to walk and mom put him in therapy and he hasn't used the wheel chair since. He was originally right hand dominate but He is now unable to use his right hand and so he has had to learn to do everything with his left hand. He has done so well. He of course has his good days and his bad days, fighting sugar diabetes, high blood pressure and boredom most of all. A working man up until the stroke and now able to do nothing takes a toll on his spirit at times. But we all do our best to cheer him up and he's always been a pretty cheerful person so we are usually able to do so pretty easily.
I am so glad we were here in town to be able to celebrate with him and do something special for him.
Love Paw-Paw so much!
