P-51 Mustang "Dago Red" flown by Reno Air Race veteran Dan Martin, currently holds the fastest qualifying time at the 2008 National Championship Air Races & Air Show, with a speed of 474.143 mph. Qualifying continues into Wednesday, with racing beginning around mid-day.

Race aircraft in the Unlimited Class reach speeds of over 500 mph - by far the fastest-moving machines in motorsports! The event also includes a world-class air show featuring the USAF "Thunderbirds", top aerobatic performers, military and civil flight demonstrations, and a large display of static aircraft.
